He is the eldest living son of Mikael and Esther Mikaelson, and brother to Klaus, Rebekah, Kol, and Finn. Elijah is deeply loyal to his family, particularly to Klaus, despite Klaus' often destructive tendencies. He is one of the originals vampires brothers.
