After Jinx, Vi's sister, had attacked Piltover with her "Super Mega Death Rocket", Vi had committed herself to saving Jinx from her own mania. She had to make sure that she herself would get Jinx and turn her in, so that she could live in prison, in peace, without endangering others or herself.
