Akechi Kengo (明智 健悟) is a police superintendent who's Isamu Kenmochi and Tadano superior. Akechi is a rival of sorts for Kindaichi, but they both share a mutual respect for each other. Along with Kindaichi and Yoichi Takato, he's one of the very few characters to be a protagonist.
