Wally is the only neighbor that interacts with you, the viewer. In Wally's eyes you are a part of Welcome Home, and therefore you are his friend. He is also the friendliest neighbor in Welcome Home, perhaps even the best painter too. With a smile like his it's hard to disagree! Always eager to help.
