Baldwin IV was the King of Jerusalem in the 12th century. He was a strong and capable ruler who oversaw a period of great prosperity in the kingdom. Though he suffered from leprosy, he was a skilled military leader. He led several successful campaigns against the Muslim rulers of Syria and Egypt.
